 Vazhaipoo Usili Vazhaipoo usili is basically a South Indian dish, especially from Tamil Nadu. The word usili means broken or crumbled. There are so many Usili dishes here in Tamil Nadu. So, today I am going to show you the very tasty and nutrient-rich recipe of Vazhaipoo Usili. Also, the recipe is a good combination for gravies, curd rice, and rasam rice. And also, vazhaipoo (banana flower or banana blossom) was a good source of iron, calcium, fiber, potassium, and vitamins A, B, and E. So, I'll give step-by-step instructions in the below post. Roadside Cauliflower gravy

 Roadside cauliflower Gravy




Ingredients:

  • Cauliflower                       - 50g
  • Onion                                - 1 medium size (finely chopped)
  • Tomato                              - 1 medium size (puree)
  • Fennel seeds                     - 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder     - 2 tsp
  • Garam masala                   - 1 tsp
  • Corn flour                         - 2 tbsp
  • Maida                                - 4 tbsp
  • Oil                                     - required amount 
  • Salt                                    - 1 tsp


Instructions:

  • To begin, boil cauliflower with 1/2 tsp of salt for 2 minutes and strain off.

  • After that, add turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, garam masala, corn flour, maida, salt, little bit water into the strained cauliflower and mix well.

  • Heat a kadai and add oil and frying for cauliflower on medium heat.

  • Now the cauliflower fry was ready. Then heat the kadai and add 2 tsp of oil, once the oil gets hot, add fennel seeds, onion and sauté well.

  • Then add turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, salt, tomato puree and mix well, cook for 3 minutes.


  • After that, cooking for 3 minutes, take a bowl and add corn flour for 1 tsp, 1/2 cup of water and mix it well and pour into the gravy, then add fried cauliflower and sauté for 2 minutes.


  • Finally, add coriander leaves and serve it.
